Oracle Sales Cloud comes with amazing reporting capabilities as I have probably mentioned too often already on this blog.  Although I have focused almost exclusively on how to make your own custom reports and dashboards, Sales Cloud comes with a wealth of standard reports and dashboards also.

If you decide to use these standard reports and dashboards, have someone verify what these report and dashboards actually try to analyze.  You need to understand a report 100% before you can trust the numbers it produces.  e.g. If the report lists top opportunities, does that correspond to your definition of top opportunities or is it just the top opportunities by value?  Most often the reports will do exactly what you expect them to do, but you just need to make sure before you start using them.  If they do not correspond to what you need them for, they at least make great examples or templates to make your own version of those reports.

Standard Reports

Oracle Sales Cloud comes with a lot of prebuilt reports.  Documentation on them can be found here.  These reports are grouped in 2 ways:

  • Standard reports by role: reports that show data related to the logged-in user or the role the logged-in user is playing a sales organization.  These reports will show less or more data depending whether the logged-in user is a team member or managing a team.  Reports per role can be found under ‘Embedded Content’ in the Sales Cloud BI catalog.
  • Standard reports by functional domain: reports that are not limited to show data for the logged in user or for a team related to the logged in user.  These are generic reports that further analyze the behavior of a sales organization.  Reports per functional domain can be found under ‘Analytic Library’ in the Sales Cloud BI catalog.

Standard Dashboards

Standard dashboard are the Infolets that can be added to the infolet homepage.  Documentation for them can be found here.

These infolets serve as a starting point to analyze your Sales Cloud data.  Each of them allows you to click through to a more detailed analysis of the same information.

Do not forget that all the standard reports can easily be added as dashboard content also.
