The Global Search has always been part of Engagement Cloud but now has dramatically changed due to the power of Workspace Search!

Workspace has completely changed the way we can search throughout Engagement Cloud. But before searching in Workspace, we need to choose an object. That is what Global Search allows us to do. It allows us to search across objects for any kind of information matching your search criteria.

Recent Items

But search results is not the first thing you see when searching using the Global Search. Whilst search results are being queried, recent items are shown as can be seen in the screenshot below.

Recent items are previous searches or items that you recently accessed by opening and updating existing data records, or by creating new ones. This is a very useful feature. You would be amazed how often we search for the same things righ?

And then the search results show up. Notice in the screenshot below how the search results contain information from multiple objects and the filter pane on the left allow us to limit searches to certain data objects only if you would want to.

I do not think there is an easier way to search, and get quick access throughout information in Engagement Cloud right?

Getting Started

Switching the global search from classic search to workspace search could not be simpler. Use the ‘Setup & Maintenance’ task ‘Configure Workspace Search’ to enable workspace search for the global search. The task allows us also to format how search results per object type need to be listed amongst the search results

Give it a try and let me know what you think!
